Deleting your data

How to have Operenda delete what it holds, what happens when you do, and the little we are required to keep.

The short version

Email privacy@operenda.com from the address you signed in with and say you want your data deleted. We will confirm within a few days and complete it within thirty.

You do not need a reason, and you do not have to close your account first.

Doing it yourself, without asking anybody

Disconnect an account — Settings, then the connection. We stop reading it immediately and delete the stored credentials.

Set a retention period — call transcripts and records are deleted automatically when it expires.

Export first — you can take everything with you before any of this. Nothing about deletion requires losing what you have written.

Close the business — everything belonging to it is deleted within thirty days.

If you reached us through WhatsApp or Facebook

Send the word delete to the same Operenda number you have been messaging, and the link between that phone number and your business is removed. Your staff stop being reachable from it and we no longer hold it.

That removes the connection. To delete the business's own records as well, use the email address above — the two are deliberately separate, because unlinking a phone is not the same as wanting a business erased.

What we keep, and why

Records we are required to retain by law — chiefly invoices and payment records, which tax authorities require us to hold for a set number of years. Nothing else survives a deletion request.

Anything already sent out into the world on your instruction — an email your staff sent to a customer, a page you published — is not ours to recall. Deleting our copy does not delete theirs.
